Metaphysical folks like us are often interested in religion, though we are not always pious accepters of whatever the current fad is among dogmatists. It would pay us well to understand the enormous gap between truth and current dogma about the religious right’s views on the Founding Fathers.

We are assured from pulpit and podium in voices strident, condescending and unctuous, that the Founding Fathers were all Christians of the same type as the current crop of blowhards, and really wanted this country to be a Christian country.

My October looks very busy at the moment so while we are here on the verge of the 50th anniversary of that historical event, let’s quickly review for the young folks what happened, or what seemed to happen, when Sputnik, the first ever earth satellite, built in Russia, began to orbit the Earth every 96 minutes on October 4th 1957. It had a skin of polished aluminium and was visible from Earth.

There is a rune named RIT in some rune sets and RAIDHO in others. These are words from old German tongues. It looks like an upper case R. Since English has Germanic languages in its ancestry it won’t be too surprising to note that the rune concerned has to do with both RITual and horse RIDing.

I was a member of B.O.T.A for many years and have studied Tarot for decades, but I don’t use it for readings and divination, ever. To me it is a 78 page book of Ancient Wisdom accessible through the symbols of an orthodox deck. It contains all the material in Kabbalah, astrology, numerology, gematria and much else, all hyper linked by the numbers involved and the Hebrew alphabet, not to mention the sychronicity of the time when the book is opened to read about the laws of the universe, within and without.

Hallowe’en is just a week or so away and the for days now the stores have been filled with hideous masks and replicas and complete outfits for children, and others to wear, not to mention equally hideous things designed to turn the average lawn into a graveyard. I thought it might be of interest to readers who didn’t know about it to see where these commercially made monsters originated, and how they connect with today.
