It’s very hard nowadays to keep up with the lies and half truths poured into the gullible public ears by government officials with an agenda and by commercial interests. Neither has any regard whatever for the truth of their statements, only for the effect they cause by constant repetition.

People who can’t or won’t think are having their health, wealth and happiness destroyed by unscrupulous politicians and corporations. It’s a sad sight for those who can think to watch a splendid country being bankrupted by financial chicanery at the highest level, and watching as those same criminals, for they are criminals, are given billions of taxpayer dollars as a reward, with no oversight at all, or any organized public outcry.

It’s a sad sight for those who can think to remember Katrina ( do you remember Katrina?) and the heartless attitude of the administration to people too poor to own a car and therefore unable to follow the official plan of evacuation which was by automobile. It didn’t help that the White House knew about the possible break up of the levées five days before and said nothing. Yet the same bunch of uncaring morons are in charge of swine flu vaccination.

Every researcher not bought by the drug companies knows and says that the vaccine will kill or make seriously ill more people than the flu. The public in other countries know this, but the no-nothing American public believes whatever the latest TV commentary says. Even though some of them know that the commentary is bought and paid for by people who do not have the public interest at heart at all.

There is another lie making the rounds now, and believing it is a great danger to your personal freedom and a first major step towards a totalitarian government. Many little steps have already been taken, and I have written about them, but if this one achieves its objective you may as well resign yourself to decades of a miserable existence in a country that could have been a cornucopia to all its citizens.

Here is your opposition to the truth. ABC, CBS, NBC and CNN News are all telling this particular half truth, which as a half truth is a lie. The Brady campaign is telling it. Senator Dianne Feinstein is telling it. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is telling it. Attorney General Eric Holder is telling it. Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano is telling it.

Yet all those authoritarian voices are either repeating an error or telling a lie. What is it, you may ask. Well, a little background information is needed before you can understand that it is a lie and why they are telling it.

In Mexico the drug lords are competing to become top dogs in their $30 billion a year, across the border drug trade. And they aren’t using peashooters. They are using fragmentation grenades, grenade launchers, full auto machine guns, ships, planes and private armies. With the drug money involved they have virtually unlimited firepower and unlimited financial resources at their disposal. The drug war is costing thousands of lives a year.

The media and the politicians mentioned are not putting the blame on the billionaire drug criminals in Mexico. They are blaming law-abiding American citizens and the Second Amendment freedoms for all the chaos and bloodshed south of the border.

And to promote their anti-gun agenda without regard to facts, they are demanding a ban on hundreds of models of firearms including virtually every semi-automatic pistol, rifle and shotgun now on sale in America today. And these are owned by hundreds of thousands of law abiding citizens.

How are they spreading their nonsense? Just last March Senator Dianne Feinstein claimed that Mexican’s drug problem was our fault because our gun laws are not strong enough to keep guns away from Mexican criminals. And here is the lie being repeated by all the people and institutions I mentioned:

She said that 90% of the firearms used by Mexican drug cartels are coming across the border from the United States. That is the half truth as I will show in a moment. But here is how the other creatures mentioned are using the same story.

The Brady campaign a few days later (coincidence?) released a 28 page report entitled “Exporting Gun Violence: How Our Weak Gun Laws Arm Criminals in Mexico and America.” This report blames the American firearms industry, the NRA and the American gun owners for Mexican’s violent crime problem.

Clinton, Holder and Napolitano as previously listed have all chimed in with their bogus claims that our Second Amendment rights are somehow at the root of Mexico’s drug wars.

CBS News Anchor Katie Couric and NBC’s Andrea Mitchell have both echoed the phony “90%” figure. Either they didn’t bother to check their facts, disgraceful behavior at the level of the money they pull down, or it was a deliberate attempt to mislead the American people.

ABC news, whose phony ‘guns in the classroom’ test I have already written about, did a not unusual dishonest thing and showed footage of fully automatic machine guns that have been banned in the U.S. for 75 years to endorse the BIG LIE that licensed U.S. firearms dealers are pouring guns into the Mexican drug wars.

And CNN News (Ha!) maybe knows better than the others the absolute limit of gullibility of the American public. They claimed that the Mexican drug lords are buying missiles and rocket launchers from the mom-and-pop gun stores here in the U.S.A. Maybe people who have never been in a gun shop could believe that. I'm surprised they didn't include tanks.

CNN is serious in its attempt to deceive the American public. They even gave Brady Campaign President Paul Helmke a column on what is laughably called their ‘news website’ in which he claimed that U.S. gun sellers supply the drug cartels with “95 to 100 percent of their guns.” Not content with that absolute falsehood, because he knows the true facts, he used the figures to demand gun bans, gun show shutdowns, the release of confidential gun trace information to gun-ban lawyers and a federal gun rationing program that could only be enforced through gun registration.

Nearly there. This bogus claim, that our Second Amendment rights are the cause of Mexico’s drug wars has been repeated is scores of big city newspapers like the New York Times and the Chicago Tribune, and on countless T.V. and radio broadcasts across the country, and in hundreds of internet and magazine articles.

But every single one of those hundreds of claims is false. The people concerned are not trying to save lives in Mexico. They are simply fanatical anti-gun extremists trying to use these tragedies to destroy freedom in America.

The real truth is that only a tiny fraction of the guns being used in Mexico’s drug wars are coming from the U.S.

Here is how the lie was generated. The Mexican government has recovered hundreds of thousands of guns in its fight against the drug lords. A small fraction of those guns has been sent to the U.S. government for tracing. They are hoping that the U.S. can help them trace this small fraction.

It is obvious even to the single digit IQ people that a high percentage of guns specially selected by the Mexican government for the U.S. government to trace would come from the U.S. Many in fact were sold to the Mexican army by the U.S. government. A fact easily forgotten by those with an axe to grind.

In the last six years more than 150,000 members of Mexico’s army have deserted their posts. Many took their firearms with them. They either joined the drug cartels or sold their weapons to the drug lords. Yes, probably all those guns came from the U.S. but NOT from mom-and-pop gun dealers. The U.S. government sold them to Mexico.

Mexico is an international arms bazaar, where guns and war material are trafficked almost openly by Russian crime organizations, the Chinese government, former Warsaw Pact nations and international black market arms syndicates.

With billions of dollars of drug money available and all the sources mentioned, it would make no sense for Mexican criminals to try to enter the States, buy a couple of handguns or rifles and then try to get back. They are not insane people though they are criminals. But the anti-gun fanatics obviously think that they are talking to dolts, or insane people when they expect them to believe that nonsense.

But maybe they do know their public. Maybe the power of critical thinking has been destroyed by schools that rely on memorizing to pass insane tests demanded by the authorities. Maybe they are right and the American public can be bamboozled yet again into giving up the fundamental freedom that all tyrants try to eliminate, the right for self defense. The only defence against a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. And the bad guy doesn’t give a rat’s ass for whatever laws are passed.

This lie that 95% of a small fraction of the guns confiscated by the Mexican government is the same as 95% of all the guns confiscated by the Mexican government, or worse, 95% of all the guns used in the drug wars is being plugged by newspapers and radios all over the country.

Somebody is very anxious that you don’t possess a gun. Their arguments are baseless. Every state in which the public are allowed to carry guns has less gun crime proportionally than those in which concealed carry laws are not practiced. That’s common sense, a commodity not found in politicians very often.

Britain and Australia have both banned the public from being able to own guns. The crime rate involving guns in both those countries has rocketed. London is now less safe than New York. The British Olympic Pistol team are not hardened criminals, but they have to go to Europe to practice. They aren’t allowed to own their target pistols anymore. That is bureaucratic insanity. Americans are better at heartless, witless, blind bureaucratic insanity than most other countries. If you own a gun for self defense or sports shooting it may help for you to tell your representative that he/she loses your vote if you lose this freedom. The Obama administration is loaded with people who are fanatically anti-gun for reasons that can only be suspected, certainly not the ones they continually blurt out in public.

You could also write to the Presidents of the major liars in the media, who probably don’t want their diminishing number of viewers to drop any more. Google will give the names and addresses. Just look them up under the usual abbreviations. Be straightforward. Ask them to stop their networks broadcasting lies about the affect of the Second Amendment on Mexican drug wars.

I’m not sanguine about that. Obviously your elected representative is probably representing his/her lobbyists more than you. But it’s worth a try. Get your passport in order and do some research to try to find a country where America isn’t hated as the Bully of the World. Then if the Second Amendment is crushed by the opposition get out. Tell me where you are going before you take off. I’d like to know the name of the place.

I don't expect to hear from the people who can believe that Jonah was swallowed by a whale, or that a virgin gave birth to a boy, or that the Earth is just a few thousand years old. Or as the Pope recently said, that global warming was caused by atheists. Anyone who can believe those things can believe anything, and probably will buy the stuff in the media. After all, "I saw it on tele."
